Toka Ebisu Shrine Autumn Grand Festival, the ‘Daikoku Festival’ [Toka Ebisu Shrine] 2026
The ‘Daikoku Festival’, the autumn grand festival of Toka Ebisu Shrine, is back again this year!
The ‘Daikoku Festival’, which proved a huge success last year, has been extended to three days! Come and enjoy a packed programme of events.
Toka Ebisu Shrine will be hosting the second edition of its autumn grand festival, the ‘Daikoku Festival’, from Friday 2 October to Sunday 4 October. Last year, the inaugural ‘Daikoku Festival’ attracted around 3,000 visitors despite being a one-day event.
This year, the festival has been extended to three days! Under the divine grace of ‘Daikoku-sama’—the father deity of Ebisu-sama—who ‘forges all kinds of bonds between people’, we will perform the once-a-year ‘Special Prayer Ceremony for Matchmaking’.
Furthermore, a variety of dedicatory events are scheduled over the three days, including the illumination of approximately 300 dedicated lanterns, calligraphy on a 10-metre-long giant panel, performances by Japanese drum groups and samurai troupes, and the ‘Hakata Odori’ dance by geisha from the Hakata Kenban. As a lively festival for everyone to enjoy, professionals active in Fukuoka—spanning the arts, music, hands-on experiences, dining, all brought together by professionals based in Fukuoka.
Furthermore, this year, all proceeds from the ‘Kanae-tai’ (Wish-Granting Sea Bream), a commemorative item available exclusively at the Daikoku Festival, will be sent in full to Kumamoto as a donation to support the areas affected by the Reiwa 8 Kumamoto Earthquake.
