The shrine stands quietly on the edge of a sandbank surrounded by Imazu Bay.
It enshrines Hachidai Ryuo or Eight Great Dragon Kings who saved the life of a Japanese priest Eisai of Zen Buddhism Rinzai School during a heavy storm on his journey back home from China.
