Fukuoka City Zoological Garden
Walk past the many fashionable shops on Josui street and you will find the Fukuoka City Zoological Garden, which is a part of Minami Park. The zoo is near 70 years old and is now undergoing new renovations set to take 20 years. See popular animals such as giraffe and rhino and Arabian oryx which is rare in Japan, etc., among the other 110 species. In the botanical garden, there are 2600 kinds of plants including greenhouse that displays rare tropical plants, also has a rose garden and a flower garden. The panoramic view of Fukuoka city from the Ferris wheel in the Zoo is a great feature of the garden as well.

- By Bus: Take Nishitetsu bus No.56, 58 or 25-1, get off at the Dobutsuen-iriguchi stop and walk a little.
Or take No.57 and get off at Jyochifukuoka-Cyukou-mae stop (5 minutes walk).
By Subway: Take Nanakuma line and get off at Yakuin-odori station (15 minutes walk from Exit 2).
