JR HAKATA CITY
JR Hakata City is the station building of Hakata Station, which is among the largest stations in Japan and serves as the hub of train network of Kyushu.
It deserves to be mentioned as the “front gate of Kyushu / Asia.”
It comprises of a cinema complex, Amu Plaza, which is tenanted by Tokyu Hands and 217 other shops and Hakata Hankyu, which is gaining a lot of attention for Hakata Sisters, the latest clothing brand shop.
The cinema complex (T Joy Hakata) has 11 screens.
Tsubame No Mori Hiroba is a roof top observatory space with rich greeneries.
The observatory is 60 meters from the ground level and allows you to enjoy the panoramic view of Fukuoka City. It also features a Train Shrine, where people pray for traffic safety and a model train running on the site, and is a great place for families to take a break. From this spot, you can also look down on shinkansen trains arriving at and leaving the platform, which makes it a must-see site for train manias.
